why light therapy for my skin?
The concept that light is good for our skin is not new. The sun has provided nature’s most prized beauty solution for thousands of years. Despite its recent popularity, light therapy has an extensive history of scientific research and development for skin conditions. Currently there are thousands of research papers substantiating the healing power of light therapy for its potential to benefit our overall health and beauty.
Red and near infrared light therapy’s ability to stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture makes it a valuable ‘aging radiantly’ tool. Regular sessions may reduce fine lines and wrinkles, giving the skin a more youthful appearance.
Blue light therapy’s ability to reduce acne causing bacteria, reduce oil production and regulate skin inflammation makes it a valuable part of a skin health routine.

yesterday’s medicine
Our ancestors didn’t have to think too much about the amount of light they got every day, they received the perfect blend of light provided by the sun during the day and around the fire at night.
The concept that “sunlight was medicine” and considered necessary for human health eventually became general knowledge; today referred to as Heliotherapy, or sunlight therapy.
Despite its recent popularity, red light therapy has close to a 100 year history of scientific research and medical uses. However, the sun has been popular with humans for healing for a little bit longer – approximately 300,000 years.

today’s science
Red and Near Infrared Light therapy stimulates your body’s natural healing and anti-aging process at this cellular level through increased cellular energy production. Those cells in turn increase blood flow and oxygen to our skin for improved nutrient delivery, wound healing, scar reduction and skin regeneration/repair. Energized cells also increase collagen production which is helpful for maintaining skin elasticity and reducing the appearance of fine lines/wrinkles.
Scientific studies also suggest that red and near infrared light therapy can lead to improved skin texture, reduced skin inflammation, regulated oil production, reduced pore size, and improved skin tone.
Blue light therapy may help destroy the bacteria and inflammation that causes acne and skin irritations. Blue light may also help regulate oil production, helping prevent future breakouts.
